Psalm 23:1–6

  1. With life constantly changing, what or who is a constant that does not change? How does the constant presence of the Lord affect our lives?
  2. Do you believe that David wrote this Psalm when he was young, tending the sheep, or when he was older, serving as King? Explain. How do we know David had a personal relationship with God? Would you say that you are a man or woman after God’s own heart? Share.
  3. What did David mean when he said “The Lord is my Shepherd”? What does a shepherd do? Why do we need a Shepherd? Who is the Good Shepherd?
  4. What is your greatest need right now? Is it healing, love, forgiveness, direction, strength, or salvation? Share. David said “I shall not want” or “I lack nothing.” How has the Lord our Shepherd provided for you? Testify.
