- What did John mean in verse 7 when he said, “Dear friends, I am not writing you a new command but an old one which you have heard since the beginning”? What was the old news? How should this old command change us today?
- How did the old command in verse 8 become new news? What did John mean when he said, “the darkness is passing the true light is already shining”?
- Can you be in the light and hate a brother or sister? The good news is “anyone who loves their brother and sister lives in the light.” Is there any darkness in you that is causing you to stumble? Share some good news with your group!
