Forks Table: December 2023

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Colossians 3:15-17

  1. What is causing you stress today? Share. Is there something missing in your life today, possibly the missing peace?
  2. What things or people are ruling in your hearts today? What or who did Paul say should rule in your heart? What does this mean? Why do you think Jesus was called the Prince of Peace?
  3. Paul said that we “were called to Peace.” What does this mean to you? What can you do to try and live in peace with others? What blessing did Jesus pronounce on peacemakers?
  4. What happens when we allow the peace of Christ and the message of Christ to dwell in us? A spirit of gratefulness tends to promote peace and harmony. An ungrateful person is commonly agitated, restless, and dissatisfied. Which describes you? What are you most thankful for in your life this Christmas season? What is your favorite hymn or song of praise or Christmas song? Sing it!
