This summer, we’re heading back to the mountains.
God’s Appalachian Partnership (GAP) has been a ministry partner of Forks of Elkhorn for years. We send donations, take day trips out to McDowell to lend a hand, and every summer we load up the vans for a week of hands-and-feet ministry in the hills of Floyd County. This year’s trip runs June 21–25, 2026, and we’d love for you to come with us.
GAP walks alongside eastern Kentucky churches and communities year-round, meeting real needs in real neighborhoods. When we’re there, we spend our days serving at local senior centers, pouring into kids through children’s ministry, and working in GAP’s distribution center, where food and supplies go out to families who need them. No special skills required — just a willing heart and a week of your summer.
This trip is built to be accessible. $150 per person covers food, lodging, and transportation. Kids are welcome to come with a parent, and students 15 and older are welcome on their own. Whether you’ve made this trip with us before or it would be your first time — whether you’re a seasoned mission-tripper or you’ve never left your pew — there’s a place for you in the van.
We believe the Gospel is good news for the hills of Kentucky, and we’re grateful that serving there is part of our rhythm as a church.
Come with us.
