As we begin a year focused on prayer, we want to take a closer look at one of the weekly rhythms at Forks: prayer meeting.
For some, it’s familiar. For others, it may feel unfamiliar or hard to fit into a busy week. Here’s a simple look at what Wednesday nights look like.
We begin with worship, giving us space to slow down and refocus. Pastor Todd then shares a short devotion rooted in Scripture.
The rest of the evening is spent in guided prayer. Prompts appear on the screen, and each one gives time to pray quietly and intentionally. A gentle tone signals when it’s time to move on. This allows everyone to participate together without anyone being asked to speak aloud or share personal requests.
That’s important to know: you will never be called on to pray out loud. Whether you pray silently, listen, or simply sit and reflect, you’re welcome to participate in the way that feels most comfortable.
Prayer meeting is held in the sanctuary, and you’re free to sit wherever you’d like. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming.
We meet from 6:00–7:00 PM and are intentional about starting and ending on time. A fellowship meal is available at 5:00 PM as an option — not a requirement. Many people come straight at 6:00, and that’s completely normal.
For families, children’s and student ministries meet at the same time. Nursery through 5th grade have age-appropriate Bible studies, and students in grades 6–12 meet in small groups.
At its heart, prayer meeting is a midweek reset — a chance to pause, refocus, and seek God together. If you’ve never joined us on a Wednesday night, we’d love for you to come and experience it for yourself.
