Our Beliefs

Statement of Beliefs

Having been led by the Spirit of God to receive Jesus Christ as our Savior, and on the profession of our faith, we have been baptized in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. In the presence of God, angels, and this assembly, we solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another as one body in Christ.

Our Faith

We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant Word of God, and is our only authority in matters of faith and practice. The Scriptures are to be understood as led by the Holy Spirit, and we commit to living according to its teachings. We adhere to the doctrines of the New Testament, striving to advance the Kingdom of Christ on earth. Our objectives as a church are:

  1. The worship of God — We prioritize the praise and adoration of God in spirit and truth.
  2. The study, practice, and nurturing of the Christian life — We seek to grow in knowledge, holiness, and comfort as we live out the principles of God’s Word.
  3. The promotion of Christ’s Kingdom — We are committed to spreading the Gospel to all nations, making disciples, and extending God’s love to the broken world around us.
  4. To be an instrument of God’s love and healing — We desire to be agents of reconciliation, restoration, and hope in a hurting world.

Our Covenant with One Another

In covenant, we engage by the aid of the Holy Spirit:

  • To walk together in Christian love and strive for the advancement of this church in knowledge, holiness, and comfort.
  • To promote its prosperity and spirituality, sustaining its worship, ordinances, discipline, and doctrines.
  • To contribute cheerfully to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the Gospel.
  • To maintain private family devotions, religiously educate our children, and seek the salvation of our family, friends, and acquaintances.
  • To be just and faithful in all our dealings and to avoid actions or activities that are not Christ-like.
  • To encourage reconciliation and restore relationships according to the teachings of our Savior, always practicing forgiveness and love.
  • To support one another in sickness, distress, and in prayer, cultivating Christian sympathy and courtesy in speech.

If we ever move away, we commit to joining another church where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God’s Word.
