Offering for Student Mission Trip

On Sunday, May 15 we will be taking up an offering to help offset the cost of the student ministry summer mission trip. Students will be stationed at the doors of the sanctuary following the 11:00 a.m. to take up donations. You can also donate through online giving by specifying “student mission trip” in the memo field.

This summer we are planning a mission trip with Praying Pelican Missions ( to Memphis, TN.  This is an organization that our church has used in the past for mission trips to Jamaica and Haiti.

The group will be taking busses to Memphis, TN leaving June 11, 2022, and returning June 15, 2022.  We will be hosted by a local church there.

Once we arrive in Nashville our group will be taken care of by trained PPM staff (1 PPM staff per every 10 people), given safely prepared meals, safe drinking water, sleeping accommodations (floor-sleeping in a local church or community center), an opportunity to attend local church services, evening worship, prayer, debriefing meetings, and a local sightseeing or recreation activity.

While there our group will have the option to participate in a variety of ministry opportunities:

  • Children’s ministry opportunities such as hosting a sports camp or Vacation Bible School for the children in that community.
  • Service Projects such as landscaping, painting, or light construction at local churches.
  • Assist at the food pantry, serving meals or sorting donations.

We will also have a fun recreation day where we could be going to National Civil Rights Museum,  Outdoor Recreation, or Explore Downtown.
