Forks Table Questions: August 2023

Timothy, my son, I am giving you this command in keeping with the prophecies once made about you, so that by recalling them you may fight the battle well, holding on to faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and so have suffered shipwreck with regard to the faith. Among them are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have handed over to Satan to be taught not to blaspheme.

I Timothy 1:18-20

  1. Have you ever been hit by an unexpected storm literally or figuratively? Share. How did you get through it?
  2. Anchors are dropped to keep a boat in place or in the proper position. What are some things that people are anchored to today? Who should be our ultimate anchor? Did you know that God has a purpose for your life? Explain your purpose.
  3. What did Paul tell Timothy to do to keep his faith from being shipwrecked? What does it mean to “fight the good fight?” Who or what are we fighting?
  4. What can you do to hold onto your faith? Paul not only said for Timothy to hold on to faith but to have a good conscience. What can you do to have a good or clear conscience?
