Easter Worship Service
Sunday, April 12
During this service, we will take communion. You can participate in this experience from your home. Communion (the Lord’s Supper) is an ordinance given to all believers by Jesus to remember his sacrifice for us and to symbolize the new covenant. The elements of bread and wine/juice are symbols of Christ’s broken body and shed blood. If you are a believer in Jesus Christ, join us online to remember His GREAT sacrifice.
We understand that you may not have the elements at home right now, but if you do happen to have bread and juice, prepare some ahead of time for everyone in your home. If not, what else might you have around the house? Crackers? Apple Juice? Tortilla chips? Water? As important as the elements of Communion are, what’s more important is the act of remembering. We are called to remember the sacrifice that Jesus made for us on the cross, and ultimately, that’s what Communion is all about.
During this service, we will pray around the cross. We cannot meet at all together at one cross, so we ask you to go to a cross in or outside your home to pray. Many of you have recently added a cross to your front yard, door, or window as part of our #ForksCrossChallenge. It would be wonderful if you would go to that cross to pray through this service with us.
Easter changes everything… and this year, everything has changed! Covid-19 has changed the way we meet, the way we connect with each other, and the way we do life. However, it doesn’t change God, nor does it change Jesus’ death, and resurrection.
We hope you’ll join us for a celebration of the new life, better life, and eternal life that the resurrection brings! Invite your friends, family, and neighbors to join us online as well.
