Below are four discussion questions and a passage of Scripture that go along with today’s sermon. If you weren’t able to join us live at 11am, don’t worry! You can watch the service any time at livestream.com/theforksbaptist. Once you’ve watched the service, please use these questions for a time of discussion and prayer in place of our Sunday evening service.
Scripture: Luke 9:23-24
“Then he said to them all: ‘Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it.'”
- Who is allowed to be a disciple of Jesus Christ? Does the Lord force us to follow Him?
- What is the cost of following Christ? What are some ways that you have had to “deny yourself” during this crisis? Has Jesus been a priority in your life?
- What does it mean to “take up our cross daily?” Do you feel as though you make sacrifices for Jesus? Give some examples.
- How has this season of unrest challenged you in your faith and in following Jesus? How can you grow in your faith during this time? Are you making any changes in your life? Please share.
