Discussion Questions: April 5, 2020

Below are four discussion questions and a passage of Scripture that go along with today’s sermon. If you weren’t able to join us live at 11am, don’t worry! You can watch the service any time at livestream.com/theforksbaptist. Once you’ve watched the service, please use these questions for a time of discussion and prayer in place of our Sunday evening service.

Scripture: Matthew 27:45-46

“From noon until three in the afternoon darkness came over all the land. About three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, ‘Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?’ (which means ‘My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?’).”

Discussion Questions

  1. Can you describe a dark time in your life when you felt lonely?
  2. Have you cried out to God in prayer lately? If not, why haven’t you? If so, what has been your prayer?
  3. What feelings are you having during this dark season? What are some ways that you can encourage others in this time of “quarantine?”
  4. Why did Jesus have to die? Because of what He did for us, how should we live?
