Below are four discussion questions and a passage of Scripture that go along with today’s sermon. If you weren’t able to join us live at 11am, don’t worry! You can watch the service any time at livestream.com/theforksbaptist. Once you’ve watched the service, please use these questions for a time of discussion and prayer in place of our Sunday evening service.
Scripture: Matthew 27:45-46
“From noon until three in the afternoon darkness came over all the land. About three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, ‘Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?’ (which means ‘My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?’).”
Discussion Questions
- Can you describe a dark time in your life when you felt lonely?
- Have you cried out to God in prayer lately? If not, why haven’t you? If so, what has been your prayer?
- What feelings are you having during this dark season? What are some ways that you can encourage others in this time of “quarantine?”
- Why did Jesus have to die? Because of what He did for us, how should we live?
