Worship at Forks

One of the most important passages of Scripture about worship is found in Psalm 96:

“Sing to the Lord a new song.  Sing to the Lord, all the earth.  Sing to the Lord, bless His name; proclaim good tidings of His salvation from day to day.  Tell of his glory among the nations, His wonderful deeds among all the peoples.  For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised;  He is to be feared above all gods.  For all the gods of the peoples are idols but the Lord made the heavens.  Splendor and majesty are before Him, strength and beauty are in His sanctuary.  Ascribe to the Lord, O families of the peoples, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.  Ascribe to the Lord the glory of His name; bring an offering, and come into His courts.  Worship the Lord in holy attire; tremble before Him all the earth.  Say among the nations, ‘The Lord reigns; indeed , the world is firmly established, it will not be moved.  He will judge the peoples with equity.’  Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; let the sea roar, and all it contains; let the field exult, and all that is in it.  Then all the trees of the forest will sing for joy before the Lord, for He is coming; for He is coming to judge the earth.  He will judge the world in righteousness and the peoples in His faithfulness.”

Ways to worship are found in Psalm 100 and Psalm 150:

“Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.  Worship the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs.  Know that the Lord is God.  It is he who made us, and we are his.”

“Praise the Lord.  Praise God in his sanctuary; praise Him in His mighty heavens.  Praise Him for his acts of power; praise Him for his surpassing greatness.  Praise Him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise Him with the harp and lyre, praise Him with tambourine and dancing, praise Him with the strings and flute, Praise Him with the clash of cymbals,  praise Him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.  Praise the Lord!”

Worship involves both personal and corporate worship.  One cannot exist without the other.  Our corporate worship should be a continuation of the personal encounters with God throughout the week.  We must prepare our hearts to enter into the presence of God by studying His word and spending time with Him daily.

Worship Teams

Worship teams are always in transition.  We are always looking for new talent whether you sing or play an instrument. We would want to hear you play and sing to determine if this would be a good fit for you and for us.  We are always open to God’s leadership in seeking out those who can serve in this area.  Currently we have immediate openings for drummers.  If you are a drummer and are interested or if you know of a good drummer you could recommend, please contact us through the contact form below.

Handbells

We were graciously gifted a beautiful set of handbells in memory of the daughter of two of our faithful members.  We meet for rehearsal each Tuesday at 5:45 p.m. in the old Choir Room just off the sanctuary.
